Our Mission

At San Pedro Fit Works, our mission is to be the unparalleled leaders in fitness training, setting the standard for excellence in the San Pedro and South Bay area. We are dedicated to inspiring and empowering individuals to achieve their fitness goals, fostering the growth of our clients, and promoting a culture of well-being within the broader community.

What We do

We deliver high-quality training backed by our formal education, extensive experience, and certifications from top fitness industry governing bodies. Our reach extends beyond the gym, as we actively engage with Cal State Long Beach to provide internship opportunities and promote community well-being through our Physical Activity Enrichment program at Cabrillo Elementary School.

Matt Leu

Owner, San Pedro Fit Works

M.S. Kinesiology

Matt has dedicated both his life and education to the field of Exercise Science. He enjoys working with a wide range of clients with varying abilities, backgrounds, fitness goals, and ages. Matt earned his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Kinesiology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He has been working as a fitness professional for over 20 years and has more than 30 years of experience training for triathlon and ultra-endurance races. Matt’s experience and approachable personality make him the perfect personal trainer to fit every client’s needs.

Matt ‘Bosko’ Boskovich

Owner, San Pedro Fit Works

B.S. Kinesiology

Bosko is a permanent student of life and exercise science. He fell in love with fitness as a boxer/kickboxer and then went on to study the other aspects of the fitness industry. He graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology, then furthered his education becoming a certified ELDOA practitioner. He has been working as a fitness professional for 13 years, encountering a wide range of clients with varying levels of fitness, goals, and ages. Bosko’s education, experience, and fun personality makes him an elite personal trainer that will fit any clients’ needs.

Polly Parks

Group Fitness Instructor

Polly has always lived an active lifestyle taking various group fitness classes over the years. But once she began taking cycling classes, those quickly became her favorite. Finding and moving to the beat of the music drives her while exercising. Due to this love for riding, Polly decided to become certified to teach! She holds a Stages One certification and enjoys developing new playlists weekly. Outside of the gym, Polly teaches biology/microbiology at El Camino College, is married to Matt Leu, and is a proud momma.

Michelle Thompson

Group Fitness Instructor

Michelle is passionate about understanding the science of exercise and mobility. She is particularly interested in learning about ground-based locomotion and chain movements that aim to maximize a person’s range of motion and overall strength performance. Michelle is a certified ELDOA practitioner as well as spin certified. Michelle also has experience teaching TRX, Strength, and Mobility classes. She continues to expand her knowledge by completing additional certificates in various fitness fields. In addition, Michelle has participated in long distance races and has been teaching group fitness classes for over 15 years.

AJ Cvitanovich

Personal Trainer
Group Fitness Instructor 

AJ fell in love with bodybuilding and wanted to make changes to his body for the better, which led him down a path to learn more about fitness. He is graduating from Cal State Long Beach with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology, as well as a Certification in nutrition coaching. He has been working as a fitness professional since early 2023. He has experience working with a variety of clients and always strives to help them accomplish their goals while maintaining a positive attitude about themselves. AJ’s knowledge, positivity, and outgoing personality make clients feel they are progressing and successfully changing their lives.

Sarah Miller

Personal Trainer

Group Fitness Instructor

With more than 25 years of experience as a teacher and coach, Sarah has dedicated her life to empowering humans of all ages, with a focus on developing healthy habits at a young age. She is originally from the UK and studied child development in college. Currently, Sarah is an ACE certified fitness specialist, an NYSCA certified physical education coach, and a Gracie University certified instructor. Sarah also helps bring martial arts techniques and exercises to elementary school children for our after school program. In her spare time, Sarah trains in and teaches martial arts as well as helps run anti-abduction and self-defense workshops for women and children.

Hitomi Masuda

Group Fitness Instructor

Hitomi is passionate and enthusiastic about teaching Zumba. She fell in love with this form of exercise and began teaching Zumba classes over 3 years ago. She particularly likes Zumba as an easy, effective and exhilarating workout designed for everyone. During her classes, Hitomi combines Zumba core rhythms (Merengue, Salsa, Cumbria and Reggaeton) with international musical rhythms.
